1.Addictive and disease prone ingredients:
Aspartame causes several diseases and Coca Cola and Pepsi have been under lawsuits in certain developed countries against using Aspartame as one of their ingredients. Children should be strictly prohibited from consuming products containing Aspartame. In addition to this, caffeine and sugar are way too addictive thereby leading to diseases like diabetes and life-long habit of consuming caffeine.
2. Kidney failures:
Artificial sweeteners and not sugar are the main cause of kidney failure. Therefore consuming diet versions of Coca Cola and Pepsi have caused more impairment than the sweet versions, although both are not considered good for health.
3. Decrease in Metabolism Level:
During and after a rigorous workout, it’s the fat burning enzymes that come into play and cause the fat to burn. While a glass of warm water can increase the metabolic rate, but may taste awful, on the other hand, a can of coke or pepsi can surely be tasty but destroys the fat burning enzymes very quickly. Therefore it’s not advisable to have coke or pepsi after your workout.
4. Obesity and Diabetes:
Soft drinks like Coca-Cola and Pepsi are a major cause of obesity and diabetes in the world’s population, which also includes children and teenagers. Obesity is the root cause of diseases linked with heart, lungs, and kidney. Research also says that obesity can trigger cancer cells in human body. Similarly diabetic people should refrain from drinking soft drinks like Coca-Cola and Pepsi as it doubles the level of sugar in their body. Also non-diabetic people should avoid these soft drinks to stay away from diabetes.
5. Teeth and Bone Damage:
Soft drinks like Coke and Pepsi have pretty high pH level. pH level decides the acidic nature of a liquid. The higher the pH level for any drink, the more acidic that drink will be. Therefore these drinks are acidic in nature and can dissolve bones and enamels with time.
6. Reproduction Problems:
Researchers suggest that cans of Coke and Pepsi are coated with such chemicals that may lead to reproduction problems with regular consumption over a period of time.
